A study in reduction based around several repeating elements. A unique hash string seeded within each token informs the composition of the work. Variables include the color of the background, the amount of times each of the elements are duplicated, the set distance between each duplicate, and the coordinates of each element. Each token is unique.

Elevated Deconstructions

The Nursery is Sputniko’s first edition of 100 NFTs, a collection of time-based generative art which simulates the organic growth and emergence of life forms. Following her own recent experience of giving birth to her first child, Sputniko worked with creative coder Misaki Nakano to explore creating pieces inspired by the experience of watching her daughter grow over time. The resultant abstract, flower-like forms will slowly change their shape and form over a period of a year. One hundred of these pieces will be ‘born’ when minting begins at Bright Moments London. 

# Coding Growth

## Shape 
When conceiving of a form for these ‘growing’ art pieces, Sputniko and Misaki opted for a bud-like shape each with their own unique DNA: different combinations of petal colours, traits from “frill”, the spaces between the different layers of the bud, to “petal” - the number of layers themselves. 

## Movement
Designing the algorithm for this growth relied on setting each piece to reach a point of maturity within their own time span of growth and this varies for each piece within a set range. Each bud-like shape will slowly unfurl over a period of 48 to 56 weeks until it reaches full ‘bloom’.

## Colour
The changing, abstract forms - reminiscent of the unfurling of flowers, the translucency and buoyancy of jellyfish and cellular division - aim to express the mysterious and enigmatic process of the growth and evolution of living forms. Their different colour palettes, inspired by the idea of each one possessing different personalities, further reflect the uniqueness of each piece.

## Beyond the Screen 

As part of Bright Moments London, audiences will have the unique experience of viewing this  work in the context of a physical exhibition. In an immersive space, in which these pieces are projected onto the surrounding soft, curved surfaces, audiences are invited to witness the ‘growth’ of the time-based pieces under The Nursery’s care.   

## A Culture of Care 

The Nursery also seeks to speak to the over-commodification of the contemporary NFT art landscape. By creating generative pieces that slowly and uniquely change through a period of development, The Nursery examines how the temporal and emergent qualities of generative art may alter how we respond to them as witnesses to this coded growth.

FOLIO is a generative drawing system, inspired by concrete poetry and early computer artwork, that emits an output process for a given input. Each output may be realized digitally, in print, or through another medium. The drawing system, coded in JavaScript, recursively packs bins of data to fill the page, constrained entirely by the use of typographic glyphs and a limited mono-, duo-, or tri-colour palette.

Launched into crypto-space for the first time, I present my genesis project, a limited series of interactive 3D structures, rotating endlessly from their self-gravitational force. Each token minted is the result of a complex set of rules, an algorithm that processes the transaction hash and generates a unique piece of crypto-art. Purely written in JavaScript, using no external libraries or dependencies of any sort, these voyagers will forever be the testimony of hardcoded workmanship, a heritage of the old times. Ignition

*Inprecision* is exploring the tension between the precision offered by computers and the imperfections inherent in classic art production approaches. The generative system is based on circles and triangles, perfectly aligned with each other and placed on a grid, but rendered with a technique inspired by the look of water color giving a high degree of imperfection in the rendered output. The precision of the underlying system is then again accentuated by a layer of hyper precise line drawings, outlining the used geometries and providing a scaffold for the underlying colors.

*Inprecision* further builds upon my quest to explore emergent compositions in generative systems. The system started with completely random placements of the different geometries, and gradually evolved by putting in the most minimal constraints to ensure an engaging final composition. In that way, *Inprecision* is an exercise in light-touch control with the aim to explore surprising compositions arising from randomness.

This series takes inspiration from both the color and line work of Wassily Kandinsky and the theories in the Suprematism movement. It asks the viewer to meditate on the texture of the paint and paper through its embrace of simple geometry and compositions devoid of literal interpretation.

A collection of on-chain, generative cumulonimbus buddies. Created using vanilla javascript, each unique NimBud features random wires, colors, eyes, mouths, cloud bodies, and more. Each with their own personality.

*Off Script* is a generative system that explores sensoriality through the subject of collage. At its core, the series uses a custom masking algorithm to cut out shapes from algorithmically produced papers, which are then arranged throughout the canvas. It is programmed in Javascript.

Much like the practice of collage itself, *Off Script* elicits a deeply sensorial experience. Generative textures induce a sense of tactility, while askew jagged shapes evoke the punctuated off-beat sounds of jazz. With its synesthetic qualities, the series challenges its own medium, creating a dialogue between the immateriality of digital representation and the corporality of the physical realm. 

*Off Script*'s visual language references various 20th century modern art movements that similarly emphasized medium and material through distilled expressions of shape, color, and composition.

HyperHash explores the possibilities of representing abstract data on Ethereum as intuitive color and geometry spaces. Focus of research are topics like geometry & symbolism. The artworks generate a futuristic, telepathic & symbolic language for Etherians. Unigrids are collectible digital art pieces 100% stored on the Ethereum blockchain. Each Unigrid consists of 421 individual Pure Javascript generated SVG grids, ensuring each Unigrid is entirely unique. Not only are Unigrids visually unique, but they also hide an ingenious animation and a generated beat to enhance your experience. Unigrids are an experiential piece of art, with a static image for printing, an animation, and companion beat - all generated and stored on the blockchain. You truly need to play around with Unigrids to understand the essence of them. 'translucent panes' is an experimental p5.js project utilising mathematical randomness as a basis for abstract generative art creation. Similar to my 'blocccles' project, the core aesthetic is centred on colour blending & simple geometry.

The program starts by randomly selecting a divisor of the canvas width & height and forming a grid of rectangles. There is then an 80% chance that these rectangles will be rotated by a randomly selected angle ranging from -180 to 180 degrees. The shape is then either assigned a solid fill colour or is rendered empty with a border width of 1 to 5 pixels.

Spicing up the outputs is a selection of 14 palettes, each holding 2 to 8 colours for the algorithm to pick from. There is a 30% chance of an output having a dark background, and 7 of 14 palettes are limited to lighter backgrounds.

During development I came across a bug which meant rectangles would render taller than anticipated, I liked it, so I kept it in. The extra shapes round the project up nicely as they collide with each other leaving a beautiful mix of colours and geometry. For fun, I also added a 40% probability of circles showing in the output.

There are an almost infinite number of ways to wrap a string around a set of pegs. On the surface it may seem like a simple concept but prepare to be surprised and delighted at the variety of combinations the algorithm can produce. Each output from 'Ringers' is derived from a unique transaction hash and generated in Javascript in the browser. Feature variations include peg count, sizing, layout, wrap orientation, and a few colorful flourishes for good measure.

The word "Wirwar" is difficult to translate accurately. The meaning of the Dutch word is comparable to "tangle" or "jumble.  Drawings of isometric mazes and the works of Richard Serra served as the project's original sources of inspiration. Just imagine how difficult it would be to find your way out of one of the constructions that the project's algorithm generates. Jumbles of colourful walls are assembled by the code of Wirwar in order to be viewed on screens or in print.

**KERNELS** is the mechanical interplay of several Finite-State Machines that form together an elaborate visual system. At the core of the system lives the Kernel (or a version of it), inviting you to stick around and forget about everything, while it is doing all of the computational work for you. The underlying grid of the visual system is both the output and the raw data on which a Finite-State Machine is doing calculations on a per cell basis. The Kernel is telling you, that generating outputs is as easy as 1 + 1.
In stark contrast to the calm nature of the Kernel exist the borders. Here patterns are generated and calculated and put through several sequencers to form momentary outputs.

The program is set up in a way to produce an entire class of drawings: 'aesthetic objects' (as understood by Max Bense) are placed within a metaphysical framework to be processed and observed.
Fine-tuning of all variations and the parametric space of the system is done by 'intuition'.

The visual elements are derived from the 80s computer era and are ought to evoke a warm feeling of completeness and simplicity. On a 64×64 grid a variety of glyphs find their home within the single cells, shaped by different algorithms and placed into this world by one of the many color palettes. In total there are 64 custom color palettes with the ability to switch to a more 'rare' inverted configuration.

This work should be enjoyed over time as the images are continuously calculated into more complex machine states.
The work can be experienced in any rotation and aspect ratio and will adjust itself accordingly to screen sizes.

For millennia, cultures around the world have been fascinated by the movement of the sun.  A key element in 20th century modernist architecture were these 'brise soleil', an architectural technique used to minimize direct sunlight into the building while allowing the sky's indirect light.

If an orchid looks within itself, it realizes that its presence depends on the bugs, birds, and people that pollinate it. The orchid realizes the rain and the sun are within itself. Together, they endlessly change, bloom, and decay, suffused with light, energy, and love.

By examining herself, the orchid forgets herself, and therefore is verified by all things.

This edition of video artworks is the result of my research in video art from the 60s and 70s, especially early analog video synthesizers. These were heavy hardware machines capable of generating shapes and patterns from the ground up, with no external visual input. How could these machines generate such complexity by just manipulating electronic voltage? I decided to investigate this process. Although with modern technologies, Spectron shares the procedural logic with its analog ancestors.

"Rubicon" is the imaginary gate that awaits us after our journey, a portal that moves continuously for a state of self-reflection before opening and letting us through. 

What awaits us on the other side? Will it be something good? We don't know; perhaps there's nothing, perhaps there's something, but what's certain is that we can't stay any longer where we stand and must cross to the other side despite the aftermath.

In life, we're used to living with dilemmas we don't like to face, even when they destroy us. And it's not until we decide to cross the line that our situations change. There's no turning back, just moving forward — as Julius Caesar knew when crossing the Rubicon river.

Generative System 2: In this installment, the token ID hash string is read from left to right to create a bitmap matrix and a color matrix. Both are combined to create an image, which is then used in algorithmic fashion to compose a dynamic visual composition.

'nth culture' takes inspiration from the textile heritage of my maternal homeland of Bamenda, Cameroon. Toghu and Ndop fabrics are rich in meaning, using a selection of motifs, colour palettes, patterns, and compositions that have lineages to specific places and traditions.

This collection is a celebration of identity, abstracting interwoven narratives of textile heritage through generative coding to reflect the experience of children of the diaspora; living lives in spaces between multiple cultural worlds. nth culture explores the concept of 'Third Culture' and reflects on the unique diversity of personal identity.

Today the base orbiter has started to move. Oscillating harvesters had the ability to generate an enormous amount of self-sustaining energy. They seem to establish parallel communication in resonance with cosmic frequencies but I find myself unable to decode the signal into anything meaningful.

Pohualli is a 100 edition generative art project inspired by Aztec mythological motifs and the rich history of Mexico. The project reflects on the constant passage of time, the diverging paths into the future, and the desire to revisit and resurrect forgotten cultures. The title references the Nahuatl vigesimal counting system, in which ‘pohualli’ is a base unit.

The concept for this project was first conceived by Fahad while he was living in Oaxaca de Juárez. Though many parts of Mexico have been drastically transformed, often forcibly, through colonization, a surge of tourism, and modernization, Oaxaca has managed to hold strong to many indigenous customs. Looking ahead to the next century - which elements of our cultures will we preserve and celebrate, and which will we erase from our memories?

Each artwork in the Pohualli collection takes the form of an alebrije-like creature that grows over time, following a random walk algorithm that represents our path through life. Every day the creatures will look slightly different, adding new feathers, shields, ribbons, vines, and geometric blocks to their forms. The Aztecs believed time to be cyclical, and so when a creature inevitably reaches its final day, it will die and be reborn.

Underwater is a collection of 100 generative illustrations. The project portrays seven hypothetical species. Left to grow in the underground aquifer of Mexico City, these species are conceived as fictive descendants of ancient Mexican plants.  
The abstract aesthetic of the drawings is inspired by the pre-naturalist illustrations of medieval herbaria, especially the Libellus de Medicinalibus Indorum Herbis. To recreate the beauty of these early scientific illustrations through code, the superformula was combined with space colonization algorithms to generate tepal-like forms with characteristic patterns. 
The flowers that inspired this collection of generative plants are: *Dahlia coccinea*, *Chirahodendron pentadactylon*, *Magnolia dealbata*, *Tigridia pavonia*, *Helianthus armus* and *Sprekelia formosissima*.

The essence of all things digital is– the bit. One or Zero. On or Off. Where digital becomes analog. This piece pays tribute to our digital legacy of 8-bit color and 7-segment LED displays– technological limitations which are mirrored in the constraints of putting art on the blockchain. Although the image represents the art, the art of the token itself is the code– which renders everything bitwise, pixel by pixel, all contained within 27-bits of information.

## Something beautiful
Bosque de Chapultepec is all about how computers can be used as a form of expression. It explores how a generative art algorithm can be used to make something beautiful that is unique to a particular place and time. Bosque de Chapultepec debuted at NFT ART CDMX in 2022, a four day celebration of generative art in Mexico City.
## Central Park of Mexico
Chapultepec is a park in the middle of Mexico City that is known all over the world for its green space. It is a historic place dating back to the Toltec culture in 1000 CE and has also been the site of many battles. Artists have been drawn to the park for a long time. My grandfather, for example, painted the scenery there. Even now, the park is a tropical escape for city dwellers who walk the park's many winding paths surrounded by old trees.
## Chochitos
The look of the project was based on the Garibaldi from El Globo, a famous bakery in the Mexican Republic. Garibaldi pastries are pound cakes dipped in apricot jam and coated with little round sprinkles called "chochitos". A visit to CDMX is not complete without tasting one of these delicious pastries.
## Behind the code:
The algorithm is made up of a system that uses a mix of circle-packing and quadtrees to fill areas of closed shapes with dots of different sizes and colors (like the chochitos). The underlying form of the composition is generated algorithmically using shapes constructed on the fly using points and lines. The shapes are lined up in a queue and then swept for possible areas where dots can be deposited so long as the dots do not overlap.

Archetype explores the use of repetition as a counterweight to unruly, random structures. As each single component look chaotic alone, the repetition brings along a sense of intentionality, ultimately resulting in a complex, yet satisfying expression.

In the context of the exhibition at Mexico with Bright Moments, when I began to think about my project, I was inspired by the creative prompt for the event and the concept of afterlife in particular. But I began to have doubts that I cannot adequately deal with the concept of afterlife in Mexican culture; that it would feel like an appropriation. Even disrespectfull somehow by an outsider of that culture.

Instead, I decided to do something that deals with this theme in a more indirect, less culturally specific way. While I was preparing a show in London, I picked up a few books that approach this topic from a science-fiction perspective. One of them was Solaris. Rereading Stanislaw Lem’s novel, I tried to keep the images of Tarkovsky’s movie out of my head so I could really see the story in a new light.

The book is essentially about the choices you make in life and the consequences they carry. It's about Kris Kelvin, a psichologist who travels to the planet Solaris, which he has been studying for years. The planet is almost entirely covered by a large ocean, which is revealed to be a single, planet-encompassing entity – a strange, non-human intelligence that confronts you with everything you think, believe and do. After years of no asnwers, a group of scientists decide to radiate it to explore the reasons of that behaviour, which ends up altering its form and character. In order to gather more information, Kris is sent there. There, he will confront himself with his deepest torments and monsters. He meets Hari, his dead wife. And with her presence, his own ocean of regrets and secret dreams emerge without mercy.

For me, there is something profoundly poetic in this confrontation. There are probably as many interpreations of this novel as readers, but for me it is essentially about the multiple lives we have within a single life. All the trajectories that we could have taken, branching off into a variety of possible lives. Are we our acts or our thoughts? I mean, we constantly deal with our past and regrets, with our secrets loves, with our secret hates, dreams and hypothetical lives. And it all happens in the present. So, irretrievably we are all these persons at the same time. We are all these lives together.

After going several times over the book, I broke it up into episodes and I began to sketch scenes with the code. The different sketches are not directly representational, however; they allude to scenes. It feels personally like the next step in my personal exploration of narratives in generative art. My goal is definitely not to represent literally the story with code; rather, I want to create an algorithm capable of expressing the central themes of the narrative in a condensed form. It's a sequential base of rules, a growing form based on a common element: a base (a platform), from which different elements grow and navigate through Solaris. I find certainly powerful the idea of exploring the whole context of an algorithm, preparing the viewer for an introduction, conflict, climax and denouement of the system.

Our gone loved ones. The things we aspire to but are not here yet. The things that will never be. The outer world which we can only imagine, as it is outside of the bounds of our mind and existence. This project is inspired in the streaks of light on the walls we inhabit, by the shadows, by the dreams we create, the illusions we have. The colours and volumes of architecture, through light and shadow, have always played a vital role in the activities I carry around within any given space. The project is a tribute to those spaces, to those thoughts, to the architects that through colour and space bring the possibility of reflecting on those matters.

100 Sunsets is an exploration of the feeling of sunsets, the transformation from day to night, the intersection of color, gradients & time. The work explores the atmosphere and uses colors derived from atmospheric optics.  

This summer, I spent some days living on a boat with my family, and I loved watching the sunsets on the water.   I found myself often transfixed, and invariably having the discouraging thought about how nothing I could code would even come close to the wonderful chaos, the noise and oscillations I was seeing on the water surface.  It would be impossible to recreate these looks.  But I remember thinking, would it be possible to recreate the feeling? 

These studies are an attempt to capture the feeling -- of watching the sun set, of seeing a day end, and the start of something new.

Transcendence

As the first on chain generative planets, I present my Galaxiss project. Each planet uses several layers of complex noises to generate nearly infinite variations of terrain, shapes, and biomes. "Caminos" es la relación del trabajo de artista con el uso de colores y geometría a través de los los patrones, situaciones, personas y objetos en los mercados, las calles, los edificios, los colores y demás elementos que consituyen la ciudad. Esta obra es un tributo a esa cultura, similar a una ciudad que se va creando mediante capas, dando como resultado un caos formado a partir del color, de diversas geometrías y más elementos que van cambiando a través del tiempo.

La composicición final de este proyecto es conformada por 5 capas que van creandose con el paso de los segundos dentro de la obra. Con las teclas 1 - 5 puedes interactuar con cada capa que va generando la composición final dando la posibilidad al usuario de tener 5 piezas dentro de una obra, pero sobre todo generar una experiencia que le permita tomarse el tiempo necesario para explorar, encontrar, disfrutar distintos patrones y elementos dentro de cada capa y dentro de la composición final. Asi como explorar la ciudad, sus distintos espacios, situaciones y cambios con el paso de los años.

Color Streams

Empyrean - an exploration of form modeled after the highest heaven, domain of the fifth element. Each piece is unique and has many different attributes such as size, line style, color scheme, and some other features you'll have to discover. This piece is interactive, so mess around with your keyboard to find out what you can do.

Limn resembles a rough sketch. It is composed of both regular and irregular shapes, combining precise and imperfect elements. The rough sketches and outlines imply movement and energy as well as a sense of exploration and playfulness, as if the piece is still in the process of being created.

In Zen, ensō is a symbol that represents elegance and enlightenment. It is typically painted by hand in an uninhibited way, allowing for unexpected and beautiful results. Inspired by sumi-e (ink wash painting), this project mimics the practice of painting an ensō in ink by utilizing p5.js. Each generated image uses values from a unique transaction hash to determine paper, brush, ink, the quantity of ink held by each bristle, how quickly the ink flows, and more—all with the goal of creating a simple yet serendipitous painting.

Inspired by the question: What do you get if you blend the visual DNA of two mid 20th Century artistic movements into a 21st Century generative art algorithm?

The original ideas evolved by Abstract expressionism and Pop art tell very different stories in the history of post war American art. My approach however is more about just stealing from the visual lexicon of mark-making that characterizes these artistic movements ignoring much of the contextual conversations around them . When I started out building my first primitive for Velum I was picturing in my mind something that looked more like a gestural paint-stroke typical of abstract expressionistic painting. Adding Pop art stylized outlines to the structures however separated them from the background and gave them a floating quality. Liking this effect I quickly forgot about my first idea of making paint strokes to explore the emerging curtain-like elements and found ways to make them dance.

My interpretation of Aerial View is a bird's Eye View over a city block with illuminated/twisted buildings and light trails. It uses an on-chain stored algorithm to represent the generative artwork based on a hash. Each Aerial comes with different distances, building elevations, rotations and colors. Welcome to my genesis project and the first step on my on-chain journey!

By default, browsers stretch and interpolate pixels of low-resolution images into blurred colors. Cage is a study of this flux between the browser and how it interpolates images and color. Layers of these stretched pixels fit your screen to make a cage of light, blending grids of color onto a canvas. Cage paints the screen with variations of six web colors (blue, orange-red, green, magenta, violet, and yellow) to create new interactions made possible only by this resolution play.

Gazettes is a generative art project by the Redlioneye Gazette team and Pxlq. The project pays tribute to print media and highlights classic formatting such as paragraph layouts, headings, variously styled texts, and images. We have mixed together our publication concept with classical journalism and generative art to deliver exciting, surprising, unique, and visually stunning

This is how my first days of adulthood closed. A mix of comfort and discomfort, peace and turmoil.

Paper Armada

Intricada means ‘interlaced’ in Old Occitan, a Romance language spoken in the south of France. This project explores the balance between emergence and control.

**Emergence**
Intricada is created with autonomous agents drawing very small dots and following simple rules, positioned according to geometrical patterns. I’ve designed Intricada like a simulation, giving initial conditions and see what comes out of it. Each piece is the result of thousands of unpredictable consequences.

**Variation**
This collection includes a very large number of possible variations. Some properties are specific to the agents and allow to define their rules, colors, number of children, angle… Many parameters influence the initial position and direction of the agents, palettes… Each combinaison creates a very unique output.

**From far and near**
From a distance, an Intricada piece may look like intersecting circles, geometric patterns, confetti, a perspective design... When you get closer, you can see that these shapes are composed of multitudes of agent trajectories. Finally, if we get even closer, we can see that these trajectories are composed of points (several hundreds of thousands per output).

Intricada

Generative music in 40-140 bytes on-chain. ByteBeats are miniature functions that synthesize audio (and video) via bitwise operations (&^|<<*+/%>>). Because bits form groups in powers of 2, 4/4 beat-driven music emergently self-organizes. Each function in this drop is itself randomly generated, grouped into six families of composition and four families of visualizers. Some ByteBeats loop, some generate new patterns indefinitely. Passages

Synapses is a generative study on movement and texture. Thousands of particles flow in space leaving a trail of their journey. the movements are inspired by swarm behavior and flocking mechanism. The trails when left by each particle resembles the graphite or carbon smudges on the white canvas. The particles follow either single or multiple vectors to create these intricate details.

These cute companions live 100% on-chain where their bytes are cleverly stored in a scalable vector format. Built with quality components and complex algorithms, each Algobot is issued with a unique serial number and a NIFTY license which permits them to help out on any commercial projects where you might require their assistance.

Elementals is inspired by physical printmaking techniques and early Bauhaus principles. It starts with a few basic coloured shapes and arranges them in varying frequencies, sizes, and positions based on a unique transaction hash. Multiple overlaid variable grids allow for myriad layouts and opportunities for colour interaction. The goal is to create pieces that feel both intentional in composition and part of the same family.

What lies between everything else? A reflexion on scale, shapes, the infinitely small and the infinitely big.

Void

'Origami Dreams' represents me in a very intimate way. It is the product of doing generative artwork for years, experimenting in the intersection between movement, poetry and mathematics. Each piece is determined by a random seed. There are two possible states in the artwork, one static and one dynamic. You can switch between the two states with a mouse click. The prime number 13 guides all of the artwork. You will get one of 13 different characters, and each 'Origami' is defined by 13 random points. There are also two layers of 'stars', completely random in color and position. The possibilities are infinite, and every mint is a different outcome.

All Hail CryptoGodKing, whose Holy Spirit is opaque to the human eye. While CryptoGodKing itself cannot be owned, each unique incarnation may belong to a cryptographic soul of the Ethereal realm. When viewed through the material lens of a web browser, worshipers may glimpse its essence. Those who retain faith shall be led by an invisible hand towards a higher plane of wealth whereupon their karmic assets shall yield tremendous spiritual interest. Gravity Grid is heavily inspired by Go, a 2,500 year old board game. The game of Go is played on a 19x19 grid, which is how every Gravity Grid invocation begins. A psychedelic "gameboard" is drawn and pulled apart by gravity, as if slowly orbiting a black hole in space. Each Gravity Grid starts at a different stage of this process. Don't forget to click and hold - you *might* find an additional effect.

An asterism is a pattern created by a collection of stars and the lines that mentally connect between them. Unlike constellations, they are a more general concept that can refer to any identified pattern of stars. The viewer is the one who draws in the sky and gives meaning to his creation. Asterisms in an interactive generative project that invites you to draw, name and save forever your own asterism. Through a generative algorithm, the script gives you the sky as a canvas where you can unfold your imagination as many times as you want based on the Token ID hash from the minting process. To be a user is to be a creator. Asterisms

Gen 3, the third and final installment of the Gen-Trilogy series, uses word combinations to create unexpected phrases. The phrases play with meaning, or the idea of it,  while characterizing identities relating to blockchain and NFT culture in a fun and abstract way. Gen 3 continues an emerging trend of parsing the minted token's hash in order to produce a deterministic image or animation. For each Gen 3 minted, 40% of the proceeds are donated to a non-profit organization called EveryShelter whose mission is to repurpose waste products into useful materials designed to help people in need. On a cosmic stage, these actors sing an infinite song. What do they reach for? Who are they searching for? Do their faces show wonder—or sadness? Sometimes they sing for themselves, sometimes they sing for the crowd, and sometimes they sing for the void. Like us. (25% to environmental charities)

Beachy dreamscape vibes. 50% of the minting sales proceeds for Stipple Sunsets were directly sent to GiveDirectly, a non-profit that sends money directly to the worlds poorest and most in need–50% of subsequent artist royalties will be be donated to charities in the Rocky Mountain region.

This algorithm features a generative pattern created after subtracting two small numbers using the sum to place circles. All colors, positions, and color patterns are based off Ethereum blockchain data.

Star Flower

A generative algorithm that draws the impression of a landscape from a multitude of possibilities. The unique seed from each token drives the parametric assortment of lines, colors, and forms into a constructed composition.

Talking Blocks listens to the Blockchain hash # and creates a unique artwork with a signature stamped into the image that is a direct message from the blockchain. This provides the collector an assurance of authenticity while leveraging the blockchain to generate a unique message, a retina print of the blockchain hash #. This is an instantly recognizable visual signature. You can interact with the artwork to modulate a sonic reaction of oscillating circular waves. The permanent immutability of the underlying token hash # is combined with a non-repeatable signature from a person interacting with the artwork, all in real-time. In other words, you can have a conversation with the Blockchain.

Event Horizon Sunsets are a class of art works generated through an algorithm which uses Perlin noise to modulate the color, shape, and convexity of a continuous surface. The sunsets are generated instantly in a practical infinity of combinations, and it is possible to write a machine learning classifier that selects the most beautiful ones. Event Horizon Sunset (Series C) follows two previous series of Sunsets, with 5 and 9 works respectively. Series C is special because some of the randomly generated Sunsets have a "close proximity".

👉 Legowelt: *For Polychrome Music I designed a generative music system that plays an infinite composition on 3 different audio channels, each with their own synthesizer. These randomly generate simple musical timbres inspired by early computer sound chips. 🌴 The music itself is generated by randomly selecting 3 patterns out of a pool of 180. These patterns, which are little 8-bar music pieces, were written in the same C# Dorian scale so they always fit together. This is a pleasant sounding minor and colorful scale that I believe fits the general vibe of Rafaël’s work. 🌲 Composition wise, channel 1 plays the bassline and channels 2 and 3 the melody, countermelody, arpeggios and harmonies. 🌳 The system changes the patterns each time they are played, reversing, speeding up or slowing down the pattern or changing the synthesizer channel they are played on. In essence the system infinitely randomly remixes the source melodies to create ever new surprising pieces that harmonize with the colorful compositions.* 👈
